The shell has broken and the baby is out. The much awaited phone from Nokia has been launched. It is named as Nokia Lumia 1020, after a lot of announcements. It is launched with 41 pixel Carl Zeiss lens which is one of the first lens manufacturers in the world. The phone seems much similar to its ancestor Nokia lumia 808. The main thing which separates 1020 from 808 is the new Windows operating system.
The camera seems to the most significant part of this smartphone. It doesn’t say that this phone does not possess any of the features of a smartphones. Since the phone is running in Windows 8 Operating System, this phone has hit the market with the premium brand in Lumia Series and earlier Nokia Lumia 808 on Symbian OS was available with same camera.
When it comes to other specifications it is featuring 4.5” PureMotion HD+ screen, ClearBlack AMOLED WXGA display of 1280 x 768 pixel resolution. It is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 and super sensitive touch. It is powered with dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is gives swift experience for the users while dealing with the phone. Lumia 1020 has a 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory but does not support external memory. It also supports cloud storage of 7GB from Microsoft Skydrive storage.
The best part of Nokia Lumia 1020 is the Camera picture quality. It is equipped with 41 MegaPixels of camera which is made of Carl Zeiss lens manufacturers. This gives a 3x zoom to the image experience without any distortion. The other camera features are Autofocus, Xenon flash and f/2.2 lens, LED for video and the sensor is with Optical Image Stabilization. With 6 lens optics you can capture excellent pure images. HD video recording at 1080p at 30FPS are also provided. The secondary camera is also HD supportable with 1.2 MP with wide angle lens. Nokia Lumia 1020 can take pictures at 32-megapixel and 5-megapixel at the same time, with 5-megapixel shots for easy sharing on social networks that combine 7 pixels into a “super pixel” in addition to a 32-megapixel shot for storing, editing and printing.
This smartphone weighs 158 gms with dimensions 130.4 x 71.4 x10.4 mm which is suitable for pockets. Nokia Lumia 1020 also supports GSM, WCDMA, HSDPA, WLAN, USB2.0, Bluetooth version 3, NFS , GPS for better connectivity. The phone has regular 3.5mm jack for sound experience and comes with 2 microphones and IHF speaker for 3D surround quality.
Nokia Lumia 1020 has a good 2000mAh battery life which gives maximum talk time of 13 hrs in 3G network, video playback time for 6.8hrs and 63 hrs of continuous for music. Also gives 16 days of standby time.
The phone will be available in yellow, white and black colors. Nokia Lumia 1020 is priced at $300 in US and will be available in market from 26 July.
The new launch clearly states that Nokia are not holding back from the market. Truly with its Camera feature the Nokia is going to rule the market again. The phone is excellent with its features with its user friendly operating system.
